City And West Hollywood Chamber Of Commerce To Host 'State Of The City 2020' - Patch.com

The City of West Hollywood and the West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce (WHCC) annually partner on a State of The City event to engage the City's business leaders and the community at-large in a conversation about new initiatives, economic trends, and innovations in West Hollywood.

This year's State of The City event, presented by the West Hollywood Travel + Tourism Board, will take place on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at 5:30 p.m. online. State of The City 2020will examine the theme "The Big Shift" in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

More than 300 local business leaders will gather online for the occasion. City of West Hollywood Mayor Lindsey P. Horvath and West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Chair Nick Rimedio will provide welcoming remarks and West Hollywood City Manager Paul Arevalo will present the State of The City keynote address.

Andrea Batista Schlesinger from HR&A Advisors will be the event's featured speaker. She will discuss the importance of positioning the business community toward a resilient future. The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has presented unique challenges to the City of West Hollywood's local businesses and workforce. HR&A's current work with the City's Vision 2050 strategic planning process establishes a framework that addresses how to best position West Hollywood for a just and resilient recovery that responds to the unique needs of the local economy and addresses underlying inequities; to provide technical support in convening stakeholders to implement strategic initiatives; and to connect to state and federal aid programs where possible to support local action.

Following the featured speaker, a panel of local experts will discuss ways in which the community can assist businesses for a resilient recovery.
