Eva Longoria is bidding adieu to her Hollywood Hills compound. The Grand Hotel actress and executive producer has sold her sprawling 2.75-acre estate for $8.25 million, the Los Angeles Times reports. This is substantially less than her original asking price of $14 million; the entrepreneur and her husband, José Bastón, paid $11.4 million when they purchased the villa from Tom Cruise in 2015.
Set at the end of a long driveway behind high-security gates, the three-bedroom main house has been substantially upgraded under the couple’s ownership, with the help of architect Mark Rios. “The whole thing about my house is functionality,” Longoria told AD of the renovations in 2017. “I want it to function as a house. I don’t want it to be a museum, so he’s making it sophisticated and elevated, yet functional. That’s a really hard balance.” The interior of the home now reflects Longoria’s vision of a “modern farmhouse,” with wide-plank oak floors, cathedral-style ceilings, and Venetian plaster walls.
The master suite, situated on the second floor, has its own fireplace and opens out onto a terrace with unobstructed views of the valley and city below. The property also includes a four-bedroom guesthouse, two studios, and a stone cottage. A lagoon-like pool fed by waterfalls features a bridge walkway, and elsewhere on the property are various lookouts and gardens, as well as a trellis-topped patio perfect for dining al fresco. Longoria and Bastón currently reside in a massive 11,018-square-foot Beverly Hills home that they bought for $13.5 million in late 2017.
