The City of West Hollywood has cancelled its regular meeting of the City Council on Monday, October 5, 2020 due to broadcast equipment technical difficulties. The City is currently unable to broadcast or livestream the meeting to accommodate public participation in a way that is up to the City's normal standards, which encourage as much community involvement and participation as possible. All Items on the October 5, 2020 City Council meeting agenda will move to the next regular meeting of the West Hollywood City Council, which is scheduled to take place on October 19, 2020 at 5:30 p.m. via teleconference.
The City recognizes that Items agendized for the meeting are of significant interest to the community. In an effort to provide the community time to review Staff Reports, information can be viewed by visiting the City's website area for Council Agendas: www.weho.org/city-government/city-council/council-agendas.
The City, furthermore, recognizes that many community members had been looking forward to the October 5, 2020 City Council meeting in anticipation of sharing their views in public comment and to hear updates from West Hollywood City Manager Paul Arevalo, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department West Hollywood Station Captain Edward C. Ramirez, and members of the West Hollywood City Council regarding recent demonstrations and protest activities in the City, public safety actions and efforts, and the role of the City and its law enforcement partner in safeguarding neighborhoods, protestors, and community members. The City eagerly looks forward to having this conversation as part of the City Manager's Report during the City Council meeting on October 19. The City is deeply committed to community engagement and it encourages community members to take part in the meeting and public comment period. Meeting details will be provided at www.weho.org/city-government/city-council/council-agendas and posted on Wednesday, October 14, 2020.
