In case you missed it, right after Demi Lovato switched up her shoulder-grazing brown hair to super long blonde hair for the People's Choice Awards, she took off the wig and several inches of her own hair to reveal a short, side-swept, blonde 'do with an unbleached undercut. And now, it seems the powerhouse singer has snipped away a little more, revealing what appears to be a full-blown bowl cut.
On Wednesday, December 23, Lovato posted several selfies to her Instagram Stories showing off the new look, starting with a Boomerang thanking stylist Amber Maynard Bolt. "Thank you @alchemistamber sooooo much for the treatment done on my hair today," she wrote, not indicating if that treatment was a color refresh, a deep-conditioning mask, or something else. Regardless, her hair looks super-healthy as she runs her fingers through it, emphasizing how her bangs seem to be the same length as her whole head of hair.
We get another look at Lovato's bowl cut in a gorgeous mirror selfie that also reveals an incredibly cool evil-eye manicure. A third, goofier photo shows the singer making a funny face in her chic, clear-framed glasses, reminding followers, "Hi don't forget to not take yourself seriously today 🤓."
OK, so we won't take ourselves seriously, but we can't help but find this bowl cut seriously stylish. And by now, we think it's safe to say the look is officially cool as hell. Charlize Theron planted the seeds of bowl-cut coolness in 2019, and just last month, Selma Blair styled her short hair into the blunt, one-length look.
Luckily, considering how comfortable Lovato is with wigs, she can switch it up as often as she'd like. But we're basically obsessed with this bowl cut and hope to see it stick around a while.
