Sources say LaBeouf checked into inpatient treatment over a month ago and that the decision to step away from acting and the entertainment business was made then.
Embattled actor Shia LaBeouf will no longer be repped by talent agency CAA, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. This comes months after claims of sexual abuse and battery have been surfaced by LaBeouf's former partners, including a lawsuit filed by former girlfriend FKA twigs.
Sources say LaBeouf checked into inpatient treatment over a month ago and that the decision to step away from acting and the entertainment business was made then. He remains in treatment, according to sources, although it is unclear what he is being treated for.
The news of LaBeouf and CAA comes as several other talents have been dropped by their representation, following allegations of sexual abuse and controversy. CAA dropped Marilyn Manson after Evan Rachel Wood came forward with allegations of abuse, while WME dropped Armie Hammer amid controversy over graphic messages he allegedly sent several women over social media. One source said LaBeouf is the one who decided to step away from the agency.
CAA did not respond to THR's request for comment.
On Dec. 11, FKA twigs (born Tahliah Barnett,) filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles against her former boyfriend, LaBeouf, for alleged “relentless abuse," including sexual battery, assault and emotional distress. The suit also claims the actor knowingly gave Barnett an STD, along with a number of other disturbing and graphic allegations. Karolyn Pho, a stylist and another former girlfriend of LaBeouf’s, is also named in the lawsuit as having been allegedly abused by the actor.
It is unclear whether LaBeouf's manager John Crosby remains on his team.
