HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – Two people were killed Friday morning in a crash in Hollywood, authorities confirmed.

The crash, which involved three vehicles, occurred in the eastbound lanes of Hollywood Boulevard near the Interstate 95 exit ramp.

According to Florida Highway Patrol Lt. Yanko Reyes, one of the cars was heading south on the exit ramp to Hollywood from I-95 when the 30-year-old driver from Maryland lost control of his vehicle, struck a concrete apex and then collided with a car at the intersection.

The second car rolled over and came to a final rest under the I-95 overpass.

A Local 10 News crew was at the scene at 6 a.m. as the car was on its side and the car that caused the collision was pressed up against a pole. An FHP report stated that inside the second vehicle was a 62-year-old man and his 64-year-old passenger.

The man and woman were taken to Memorial Regional Hospital, where they both died.

According to the report, the driver who caused the collision and the 31-year-old man who was a passenger in his car were both hospitalized with serious injuries.

A third vehicle was struck by debris from the crash, but that driver was not injured.

The identities of those involved in the crash have not yet been released.
