Fox and Sony are the two picket lines closest to the tony neighborhoods of the Westside. “Not a lot of younger writers have houses in Santa Monica or Brentwood, so you get a lot more older showrunners,” says a writer. They also tend to be “ten to 15 degrees cooler” than the others.
DISNEY

“Disney is like a walk in the park,” says a writer. Literally — picketers take a lap through leafy Burbank. Plus one self-professed dog mom calls it “a great place to bring your dogs.”
PARAMOUNT

Paramount is a convenient meetup spot in Central L.A. (though be warned — it’s hot). “A lot of people can get there easily,” says one writer. Another calls it “a lesser Netflix” in terms of the party vibe.
WARNER BROS.

Warner Bros., near Toluca Lake, is where you’ll find the Valley Moms. A writer says, “They’re mid- to upper-level writers who are pushing strollers. After you go to Netflix, get married, and have a kid, then you’re doing the Valley Mom life.”
UNIVERSAL

Universal is widely regarded as the most hard-core picket line. “My favorite lot to picket at is Universal,” says a writer. “Because Universal doesn’t want us there.” The studio infamously trimmed its trees to nubs, and the sidewalk just so happens to be torn up by constant construction. “Universal is the trenches. When you picket there, the strike captains are like, ‘Thank God for you.’”
CBS

CBS’s TV studio has only one gate, but the downside is it’s far from the actual offices. “I want to be right in these people’s faces,” says a writer. “I want them to have to drive by me and look me in the eye.”
