Mark Wahlberg is a versatile American actor, producer, and entrepreneur who rose to fame as a rapper in the 1990s. He has since become one of Hollywood’s most recognizable and bankable stars, with a career spanning over three decades and a diverse range of roles across various genres. However, the actor doesn’t live in Hollywood anymore.
Ever since relocating from Hollywood to Las Vegas, Mark Wahlberg and his family have not shown any inclination to return to their former home. In October 2022, the actor disclosed that he relocated his family from their luxurious $90 million California mansion, seeking a “better life.”
Relocating Has Changed Mark Wahlberg’s Life For Good
Six months after relocating, the Father Stu actor acknowledged that the decision to move to Las Vegas, Nevada, has benefitted his children’s lives. Mark Wahlberg is a father to four children, namely Ella, aged 18; Michael, aged 16; Brendan, aged 13; and Grace, aged 12, with his wife of 13 years, Rhea Durham.
“I spent lots of time in LA pursuing my interests and my career, and now it’s time for them to pursue theirs,” Wahlberg shared. “Everybody is thriving there. It’s been great.”
The relocation also brought many advantages, including a brief travel time to the most popular events in the city.
“I saw Adele; I saw Bruno Mars,” he said. “I’ve seen quite a few shows and been to lots of great restaurants. There’s so much to do in Vegas, and it’s so exciting.”
Mark Wahlberg Sold His LA Home For A Whopping Price
In April 2022, Wahlberg put his Beverly Hills property up for sale with a price tag of $87.5 million. The actor purchased the vast 30,500-square-foot residence for just $8.25 million in 2009. The mansion boasts an impressive 12 bedrooms, 20 bathrooms, a private theater, a wine cellar, a tennis court, a five-hole golf course, a skate park, and an additional guest house.
Mark Wahlberg purchased a property in Summerlin, just outside of Las Vegas, for $15.6 million in July 2022, as the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported. During an appearance on The Talk in October of the same year, Wahlberg spoke candidly about the difficulties of balancing his busy career with family life. He stated that the “biggest challenge” he faces is striking a balance between the two and ensuring that his children’s needs are met.
“I want to be able to work from home,” he said. “I moved to California many years ago to pursue acting, and I’ve only made a couple of movies in the entire time that I was there.”
Mark Wahlberg’s Father Stu is available for streaming on Netflix.
